Native Spirit Saddlery prides itself on its hand made, custom fit saddles. Kristi has been making saddles on a part time basis, since 1999. She has completed over 20 saddles and is now marketing a new concept of flexibility (The Vision) with an adjustable gullet. (Patent pending)
Kristi obtained her unique perspective in saddle making through her riding experiences from pleasure riding at the age of nine to her competitive endurance riding (UMECRA, AERC, DRAW).
Donna Snyder-Smith and Kristi at an Endurance Centered Riding Clinic.
In early 2007 Kristi left a position working in a factory, working with plastic extrusion, to fully devote her time to developing the “Vision”. She has knowledge of how to use Low Density Polyethylene. (LDPE) LDPE is a softer grade of plastic. (High density polyethylene is what milk jugs, laundry detergent bottles ect are made of) The bars and ground seat of these saddles are made of LDPE plastic, which she cuts and forms by hand.
Each saddle is made by Kristi and is custom fitted to each person’s needs. They are to be used with centered riding techniques whether you ride two-point, post, or sit.
